Level 1 - Beginners Guide to Guns covers the fundamentals of pistol functionality and firearm safety. This class is designed for you if you are brand new to handguns or if:
You've never held or shot a gun
It's been some time since you've held or fired a gun
You want to learn basic firearm safety before you purchase a gun
You'd like to gain confidence with guns and learn how to handle the gun(s) in your home safely
You're curious about guns and want to learn
You don't want to be scared of guns anymore
 
Classes are held:  Friday Evenings 6:00pm - 8:30pm

First and foremost you will learn how to safely handle a gun.  Gun, pistol, firearm; these words are all interchangeable to some degree. We explain- in plain English - the nomenclature and functionality of pistol parts as well as ammunition types, parts and functions. We'll also review for comparison the difference of pistols versus rifles and shotguns.
 
You will learn by doing.  In a safe and friendly atmosphere with NO LIVE ammunition, you'll learn how to:
Safely handle multiple types of pistols
Load, and unload multiple types of pistols (with dummy ammo)
Identify what gun takes which type of ammunition
Safely store firearms in your home
Safely move firearms 
 
We cover both semiautomatic pistols and revolvers.  We explain the meaning of and purpose behind specific firearm attributes. We'll explain and demistify terms or words you may have heard like:
Magazines, cylinders and clips
Single-action and double-action 
Safeties
Hammer-fire and striker-fire
Cockers and decockers
and much more
 
This class on its own will NOT certify you for your concealed carry license. You will need a separate , companion class with a live-fire exercise to receive certification to submit for a concealed carry license.  See our Concealed Carry Class offerings.
